Bjaf Professional Silky Shampoo is a 300 ml bath shampoo for washing your dog at home. It lifts dirt, dust and oil out of the coat, rinses out easily, and is mild enough for weekly use.

Ingredients, and what they do

Hydrolysed silk: silk protein broken into pieces small enough to cling to the hair. Fills in the worn parts, so the coat feels smooth.
Hydrolysed keratin: hair is made of keratin. These small pieces stay on the coat after rinsing and make it stronger.
Argan oil: a nut oil from Morocco. Adds shine and helps the coat hold on to moisture.
Oat beta-glucan: a soft fibre from oats. Comforts dry skin under the coat.
Aloe vera: the gel from inside the leaf. Cools and moisturises the skin.
Niacinamide: a form of vitamin B3. Helps skin hold water instead of losing it.
Honey: pulls moisture into the coat and keeps it there.

Also in the bottle: rice protein, vitamin E, allantoin, chamomile and fermented rice.

It lathers

It works up into a thick, creamy lather, so you can see where you have washed and you do not keep tipping more onto the coat.

Wash twice. The second wash is the one that counts.

Shampoo sits on the coat about 2 minutes, then it is rinsed away. The first wash removes oil and dirt. The second one meets a clean coat, so the caring ingredients have something to hold on to. It is what a groomer does, and it costs 2 extra minutes.

Brush the coat out dry first, because water turns a tangle into a mat
Wet it right down to the skin with lukewarm water
Massage into a lather, then rinse
Repeat once
Rinse until you think it is rinsed, then rinse again
Dry properly and brush as you dry

What to look for

In the bath: a proper lather on the second wash
Once dry: a brighter coat that feels smooth, not squeaky
Next day: the brush travels further before it catches

Do you need the conditioner too?

The shampoo cleans. The Professional Silky Conditioner stays on the hair after rinsing, and that is what makes the brush glide next day. Long, curly and doodle coats want both. A short smooth coat is fine on shampoo alone.

Sensitive skin, honestly

A mild wash base and a light fragrance suit dogs with sensitive skin. It cleans the coat and looks after the skin. If your dog is scratching, red or losing hair, ask your vet.

The rest of the routine

Brush before every bath. Dry with a dryer and a brush, not a towel alone. Wipe muddy paws at the door with the Paw Cleaner. Then wash with the Silky Shampoo whenever the dog needs it.
