Bjaf Waterless No-Rinse Shampoo freshens up a dirty coat without a bath. Spray it on, massage it in, towel it out. The dog is clean enough for the sofa in under 5 minutes.

Ingredients, and what they do

Green tea: leaves from the tea plant. It takes the smell off the coat.
Witch hazel: an extract from a shrub. It cleanses gently, without drying the skin out.
Aloe vera: the gel from inside a thick-leaved plant. It puts moisture back into the skin.
Calendula: the marigold flower. A mild plant extract, picked for dogs with sensitive skin.

Also in the bottle: water, which carries the rest. It goes on a dry coat and there is nothing to rinse out.

Onto the towel, then the coat

Many dogs dislike a spray near the face. Put it onto a folded towel or into your palm first, then work it into the coat. Quieter, and the result is better.

What it does, and what it does not

It lifts surface dirt and dust, takes up extra oil, takes the smell off, and leaves the coat looking and feeling better.

It does not replace a bath, it will not get a properly filthy dog clean, and it does not reach the skin the way a wash does. A dog that has been in a muddy ditch needs a bath.

How to use it

1. Shake the bottle
2. Spray onto a towel or your palm, then onto the coat, clear of eyes and ears
3. Massage in with your fingers or a soft brush
4. Rub through with a clean dry towel, which is the part that does the cleaning
5. Brush the coat

Use it on a dry coat. There is nothing to rinse out.

What to look for

• Straight away: the dog smells fresh and the coat looks less dusty
• Once brushed: the coat feels smooth, not greasy
• The more you towel out, the cleaner the coat gets

Coat types, and how often

• Short smooth coats: quick, and it works well
• Long or silky coats: work in sections and expect to use more
• Thick double coats: freshens the outer coat, will not reach the undercoat
• Use it as often as you like between baths
