What to watch, and when
Watch the stools. Firmer and more even, usually within the first week, sometimes in a couple of days. There is often less of it, and it smells less.
Coat condition can follow over 4 to 8 weeks in some dogs. The gut moves first and the coat takes longer.
If the dog licks its paws raw or scratches through the night, book a vet. That needs treatment, and this is a food supplement.
The first week
Some dogs get looser stools for the first few days while the gut settles into the change. Give half the daily amount for the first week, then go up to the full amount. This is normal and it passes.
Ingredients, and what they do
Bacillus velezensis 1 billion CFU: a good bacterium, and that is the amount in the daily serving. It is spore-forming, so it comes through the stomach alive and gets to work in the gut.
MOS: a fibre that comes from yeast cell walls. It is food for the good bacteria already living in the gut.
FOS: a fibre that comes from plants. Also food for the good bacteria, so more of them stay.
L-glutamine: an amino acid. It is what the lining of the gut runs on.
Chamomile powder: a dried flower. Long used for a settled stomach.
Salmon oil: oil pressed from salmon. It carries the fats that keep skin and coat in good condition.
