Bjaf Detangle Spray is a 120 ml leave-in conditioner for brushing days between baths. It puts slip on the hair so the comb travels through a tangle instead of dragging on it.

Ingredients, and what they do

Macadamia oil: a light oil pressed from a nut. It coats the hair and gives the comb something to slide on.
Jojoba oil: a liquid wax from a desert shrub. It sinks into the hair and leaves shine without a greasy feel.
Allantoin: a mild conditioner, the kind found in the comfrey plant. It softens the skin under the coat.
Bisabolol: the gentle part of chamomile. It conditions skin that gets brushed a lot.

Also in the 120 ml bottle: water, which carries the rest. Nothing to rinse out, no sticky finish, no crunch.

Spray into your hand, not at the dog

Plenty of dogs will not stand still for a pump spray near the face. Spray into a cupped palm or onto the brush instead, then work it through. The dog stays put, and you get the same result.

Spray, wait, then comb

The waiting is the part people skip, and it is the part that works.

1. Shake the bottle
2. Spray onto the tangle from about 15 cm, or into your hand
3. Wait 30 seconds
4. Hold the hair at the base so you are not pulling the skin
5. Comb from the tips upward, in small sections

It works on a dry coat or a damp one.

What to look for

• In the first minute: the comb goes further into the tangle before it stops
• The same session: less pulling, so the dog stands still for longer
• Hours later: the coat still feels smooth and not tacky

Which coats, and what it will not fix

• Works well on: long silky coats, curly and doodle coats that are brushed regularly, feathering, and the spots behind the ears
• Helps, but will not solve: thick double coats
• Will not fix: a solid mat pressed against the skin

Mats, honestly

If the comb cannot get into it at all, it is a mat, and no spray dissolves a mat. Work it from underneath in small sections with a comb, or take it out with clippers such as the Dog Clipper Pro.
